Organizing a baby shower could not be easier! Let us do all the work for you. Just turn up, enjoy and take credit for a fun afternoon (or morning)

We will provide our venue, a cake, coffee, tea and a fun meaningful activity. We can also organize some fun and innocent baby shower games if required. All you need to do is bring the champagne (glasses provided). No cleaning beforehand or tidying up afterwards required on your part.

The baby shower package runs over 3 hours and includes a welcome by your friendly teacher, followed by a structured activity, refreshments, baby shower games (if required) and opening of the presents. We are happy to work with you to make the day just perfect! Scroll down to read more...

Activities to choose from (choose one):

1. Make a bunting for the new baby's room

2. Make a baby pram quilt

3. Design, sew and embellish a soft toy/animal cushion for the baby

4. Each guest designs and sews a beautiful bib for the baby, so bubs has a selection of individual handmade bibs created just for them.

All guests work together to create a keepsake/heirloom item for the new baby to keep and cherish. Guests may choose to embroider, embellish or otherwise personalize the quilt squares, bunting pieces or soft toy under your teachers helpful guidance. The mother-to-be will walk away with an item that has been lovingly handmade by her closest friends and family. Everyone can sign the final piece, so that they will be remembered by the child as they grow up.

Guests and mum-to-be may choose to contribute a piece of fabric to be incorporated into the final item, maybe taken from a piece of sentimental value, such as their own baby blanket, favourite item of clothing that doesn't fit anymore, or just a pretty piece of fabric found at the shop.

However, all materials required to make the final item are included in the price, and everything (such as fabric, thread, needles, notions, trims, stuffing, wadding, embroidery thread, etc) will be provided during the workshop so there is certainly no need to bring anything if you don't want to.

Cost: $55 per person (includes 3 hour venue hire, host & materials)

Class Schedule

What you will learn

  • Depending on your project you may learn to handsew or basic machine sewing
  • Handsewing techniques may include piecing, embroidery, applique, etc.

We are a small business specializing in bringing fun and creative small group classes to the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. At MAKEandLEARN, we teach sewing, pattern making, block construction, embroidery, knitting, crochet, patchwork and all things handmade. We also offer workshops on natural health and living, including massage, making herbal home remedies, natural cleaning products and natural spa and beauty products. Cancelation & Refund Policy

Cancellation policy

To ensure that every student receives plenty of attention and opportunities to ask questions during the class, we make it a priority to keep our class sizes small. Classes also require a minimum number of students to run.

For that reason, your enrollment in the class is final and cancellations will forfeit the full fee However, you can also transfer your place at that class to a friend or family member at no extra cost, just let us know.

So please double check your availability before making a booking as there will be no exceptions. If you do know in advance that you may be unavailable for a specific day of the class, please contact us prior to discuss. We may be able to accommodate you in an alternate class to make up for the missed class (this option is only available if confirmed at the time of booking.)

Missed Classes

We run small group classes, most of them sized between four to six students only. This means that our classes are usually fully booked. With prior arrangement (upon booking a class), we may be able to offer a make-up class at the teacher's discretion, given there is a space available in a parallel class.

However, we regret we do not offer make-up classes for missed classes in general, due to the small class size mentioned. If we did, we would have to change our business model to larger size groups, or significantly increase our prices to accommodate the extra students.
