Teach your craft - online event

Learn how to become a creative educator

Live via Zoom

Description

MakerSpace & Co. is looking forward to participating in Sydney Craft Week for 2021, and excited to offer this class to all budding makers! There is a lot of demand for creative classes, especially during the pandemic. People are starting new hobbies as a way of getting through the lockdown, and when restrictions are lifted, people can't wait to get out of their homes to do something fun and socialise with others. Teaching your craft is a great way to add value to your profile as a maker, build a community of like-minded people, and provide you with an additional income stream to your making.

MakerSpace & Co have teamed up with jeweller Marina Civiero, from www.marinaciviero.com.au, who has more than 15 years of teaching experience, which includes teaching jewellery at TAFE NSW, as well as other organisations such as the Sturt School, Mittagong and MakerSpace & Co, Marrickville. Marina has also taught the Cert IV in Training and Assessment at TAFE NSW. Marina will be providing a session that explores what needs to be considered when delivering creative content in the adult learning setting.

Marina will also be joined by Nadine Sharpe, GM of MakerSpace & Co., jeweller and educator, who has ran a variety of classes teaching her craft all over NSW for the last 8 years. Nadine and Marina will be discussing what it is like to run creative education programs, the good the bad and the ugly, and how to manage the inevitable when something goes wrong. We will also be looking at options for how you can deliver a class in 2021 - there are so many!!!

This is an interactive session, with a Q&A component for discussion with participants. The session will also include break out groups, where participants will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas and recieve feedback, helpful tips and ideas on what needs to be considered to bring that idea to fruition.

This class is open to everyone, whether you are an expert in your field or a budding maker just starting out. All welcome!

Thank you so much for your workshop today! So much great content & really enjoyed the interactive nature of the forum. Nadine & Marina were really informative & offered customised advice on creating our own creative workshops:)
