Create a unique woven artwork.
Levering from tapestry weaving, the technique presented in this workshop explores contemporary form by maniputlation of both warp (up & down) and weft (across) threads. By creativing voids and distortion of the warp, and/or blending a variety of yarns, you can achieve a visually interesting result.
Most people find weaving relaxing and fun - for some of us it can become addictictive!
Date: Thursdays 10 Nov 1-4.30pm, 24 Nov 1-3.30pm (note shorter time for session 2).
Cost: $170 Materials : $2 paid to tutor.
Guest Tutor: Sue Traylen is an experienced local textile artist who has taught several classes at Opendrawer. She is a very popular tutor for her gentle and approachable manner, and her quiet sense of fun. We particularly admire her great sense of colour & form, and are proud to feature her woven pieces for sale in Opendrawer's shop from time to time - snap them up if you see them, they don't stay long.
