Make a Kanzashi fabric Flower accessory with Zara Parker



Description

In one morning learn the art of Kanzashi flower making. Traditionally used as Japanese hair ornaments, sewn from silk, you can use as earrings, brooches, pendants, hair bands or clips & more!

Make your fabric choice from Opendrawer's luscious kimono fabrics. Stiff or soft fabrics give a different look.

Class Day & Time: Wed 8 March,  10.30-1pm

Materials Fee: $8 cash on the day for materials (fixings, thread, fabric etc). $5 extra for the pendant fixing (Does not include chain).

Guest Tutor:  Zara Parker wears many hats! A qualified yoga teacher and photographer by training (among other things) she is an accomplished artist/maker in several different crafts (her works regularly appear in-store, and her photography in our EyeCandy newsletters)  She also teaches the ever-popular Freeform Stitched Mandala workshop and Crochet Clinics.

Class Schedule

What you will learn
  • How to construct the kanzashi flower
  • Finishing techniques to turn the flowers into accessories
  • Learn 2 different petal techniques using squares of fabric
What you will get
  • Take home 1 flower accessory - either a Brooch or earrings or pendant.

  • (optional) bring a basic sewing kit if you have one

Cancelation & Refund Policy

If for any reason you decide that the workshop you have done or are doing does not suit you, then that is a personal decision and no refund will be given.

If Opendrawer cancels a workshop, you will be given a full refunds or can choose a replacement workshop to the same value as the workshop being cancelled. You will be notified at least 2 days before the due date of the workshop if cancellation is necessary due to insufficient enrolments.

Terms & Conditions

A $10 admin fee applies to all changes of date/workshop bookings.

Cancellations made within two weeks of the booked workshop will forfeit 50% of the advertised fee - or you may find a replacement student.

Cancellations made within 24 hours of the workshop will forfeit the full advertised fee - or you may find a replacement student.

A minimum of five people are required for a workshop to run. Opendrawer reserves the right to cancel a workshop if the minimum booking is not achieved. Full refunds will be given or a replacement workshop offered to the same value as the workshop being cancelled.
