Beatmaking 101 with Garry Sheba

Description

This class is designed for anyone wanting to learn music production and composition using Logic X software. This hands-on and interactive class will explore:

  • How to program, tune & layer professional drums using Logic’s own drum synthesisers and samples as well as 3rd party alternatives.
  • How professional producers maintain interest in repetitive drum rhythms and patterns.
  • How to create groove and bring your drums to life.
  • A basic run through of Time-based effects processors and how using them can help create energy and interest in your drum loops.
  • How to engineer and process your drums so that they are balanced and pull through the mix.

About Garry Sheba

Garry has been interested in technology and music from as early as he can remember. Growing up with both parents being musicians, somewhere along the way he found himself combining the best of both worlds. As a young teenager Garry’s father invested money into a home recording setup, where he would spend hours putting together loops and creating music. Going on to complete a Double degree in Audio production and Music composition, Garry is now producing music for local record labels with his music featured on television and in documentary features. He is a lead music production teacher at Richmond Music Academy.
