I went to the harmonica workshop which was a good basic introduction and great value for $30. The teacher knew the instrument and was down to earth and easy to understand. He made a point of going around the room to check that everyone had understood his instructions. It was good value and interesting. The space is large and functional, cold and breezy so make sure you're well covered in winter. Difficult to park nearby but an easy walk from Redfern station.
A terrific beginner lesson from Doug. Well worth the money and enough detail to encourage me to continue on my harmonica journey. I highly recommend the class and the resource material available. The work-shop is a great venue too, by the way.
The importance of the tongue movements to enhance sound. The clear way that the instructor demonstrated his techniques. Putting people at ease and made it an enjoyable experience
