This 2 hour life drawing is for complete beginners or people who have some drawing experience but would like to learn more techniques and get feedback on their drawings. This life drawing night, complete with a live model, will teach you skills and techniques you can use to better your drawing. These are the techniques taught in art schools and are useful for drawing in any medium.
Students will learn specific techniques to develop their capabilities in proportion, foreshadowing, tonal drawing, line drawing, negative space, structural studies and mass studies.
By the end of the class, students will have completed a series of sketches of the live model and will be able to use the techniques learnt to continue developing their drawing.
These classes will be held at Nauti Studios in Stanmore.
About Natalie Cheney:
Natalie’s earliest memories are of drawing. Of when she would draw pictures of Looney Tunes from books at her Grandmother’s house in Collaroy. Nat has continued to enjoy drawing throughout her life, studying painting and illustration at RMIT in Melbourne and holding her first solo exhibition at the age of 21. Her recent work, although varied in style, is often inspired by themes of nature, the female form, and people’s relationship to the natural world. Nat’s work shows a love of detail, quality and working on recycled and reusable materials. When she isn’t drawing, Nat is running Nauti Studios, a big ole studio for creatives in Sydney’s inner west suburb of Stanmore.
