Description

My Japanese Brushstroking workshop is a wonderful step towards mastering the brush whether with calligraphy or beautiful creatures, flowers and landscapes.

I use this technique when I paint in Watercolour as it guarantees a beautiful loose effect.

This workshop will be so much fun, as you create your own gift cards and larger pieces (A4) suitable for framing.

This is the class my students seem to have a huge smile on their faces when they realise that with the right brushes, just how easy it is to create wonderful images they can be proud of.

This is also the experience that seems to make students want to continue on with learning all about magical watercolours.

Disappointed with this workshop, didn't really meet expectations from description and write-up on website and very poor quality paper used, especially for watercolours. Not good value for cost of the workshop.

I found that the workshop could’ve been better structured and organised in terms of: The space - it felt that it was a bit cramped, sitting a bit too close to the person next to you and there was no room to spread around a little bit It was hard to hear if you weren’t sitting directly in front of the facilitator, which overall made it difficult to pick up any of the tips/skills as it went along. Some of the techniques shown used larger, professional paint brushes which was hard to replicate using the much smaller brushes provided. The materials that were provided, especially the paper was incredibly thin and, quite honestly, felt very cheap. Which the facilitator herself even mentioned. Something about it costing 35cents?! The information regarding the workshop mentions that you will get complimentary handouts which we didnt get, and also 2 large and 2 small brushes , but then says its ‘available for purchase’? It shouldnt state under ‘what you will get’ if it is an extra cost on top of the workshop cost. Overall, unfortunately, our group who came along all felt disappointed and felt that for the cost of the workshop, it was not worth it. From the lack of space, to the cheap materials provided, to not being able to really follow/hear throughout the session, and not having anything tangible at the end of the session to take home, I unfortunately cant recommend the workshop. A talented artist no doubt, but a lot of room for improvement in running these types of workshops and the quality (and quantity) of whats provided.
