At Flour, Eggs, Water - we are passionate about food education and about inspiring people about the beauty of cooking. In this 2-hour workshop, you will learn about the art of making pasta from scratch.

This is the ultimate pasta workshop where we will teach you step by step how to create fresh pasta, essential kitchen etiquette, seasonal eating and the simple joy of creating and enjoying a meal together. You will take home the pasta you make in your Flour Eggs Water tote bag as well as enjoy a beautiful pasta lunch with our signature home made focaccia, olives, salad and a well deserved glass of wine. 


ABOUT THE FOUNDER

After a successful 10 years in the Sydney Restaurant scene and with over 20 years’ experience in the culinary scene, Chef Eugenio Maiale of A Tavola is opening his kitchen for foodies of all ages to experience the art of making and preparing fresh pasta at his latest outpost Flour, Eggs, Water on Crown Street. 

His mission is simple. To educate people of all ages how to prepare one of lifes simplest pleasures at home. Our classes will introduce you to the very best pasta ingredients and give you all the tools you need to create an amazing pasta dough and the art of preparing and cooking some of our well loved signature dishes.

The inspiration for A Tavola (meaning “to the table”) derives from head chef and owner Eugenio Maiale’s childhood. As a child Maiale would play in the backyard of his Adelaide home waiting to hear the chime of “A Tavola” when dinner was ready.

On Maiale’s family kitchen table were consistently simple, honest and traditional style dishes. It was a daily ritual, almost a meditation, for his Mother to maker her own pasta – from ravioli and tortellini to tagliolini. She passed her knowledge onto Eugenio who further developed these techniques during his childhood visits to Italy. He would watch his relatives make an assortment of pastas, including pappardelle and gnocchi, rolling the pasta on big wooden tables either by hand or with broom handles.

Maiale has continued this concept of simple and elegant food with his first Sydney restaurant. The cuisine can be described as predominantly “Abruzzese” (a region north-east of the boot, next to Rome), with a heavy emphasis on dried and fresh pasta cooked to order. His dream was to create a unique Italian experience. He has done this by creating what has been described as a “euro chic” dining space which revolves around a 10metre long communal Indian marble table.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Anyone partaking in any classes or coming to any events at flour eggs water or organised by flour eggs water must agree to these terms and conditions.

1.) LIABILITY WAIVER

I agree to take on full responsibility for any damages, injuries and for physical and/or personal property, which I might incur whilst participating in classes and/or events organised by flour eggs water.

2.) PHOTO & VIDEO

I agree to give flour eggs water unrestricted publishing rights for any photographs or videos taken at flour eggs water classes and events or on flour eggs water's premises. (For use of flour eggs water marketing materials).

3.) REFUNDS

flour eggs water requires 48 hours notice in writing prior to the class for a full refund or transfer. 

4.) CANCELLATIONS

In the event that a class is cancelled, students will be notified via text message or email and entitled to a full refund or credit.

This class was actually quite useful and I feel like I have learnt a legitimate skill! Nothing you couldn't do yourself at home once you know how to do it as long as you have a rolling machine. Definitely recommended as a fun thing to do and certainly an impressive skill to pull out once in a while ;)

Absolutely worth every cent! The chefs were amazing and gave great tips. Plenty of pasta to take home and the lunch was very generous.
