Description

This six-week course is designed to set you up with a solid foundation in the art practice of ceramic sculpture. From techniques for small sculpture, medium sculpture, underglazing, and clear glazing, to ceramic theory and basic kiln firing knowledge.

Ceramic sculpture artist Aoife Billings will teach you every step and process she uses to make her own ceramic sculptures.

After a series of lessons to teach you the foundations of ceramic sculpture and ceramic theory, the course will be tailored to your needs to create the artworks you want to make with one on one technique demonstrations.

It is a relaxed, friendly, LGBTQI+ safe class. All ceramic skill levels welcome.

As always with Aoife's workshops, there's never pressure for perfectionism, we will prioritise process, learning, play and community.

All materials and firing costs are included in the price.

Week 1: Ceramic theory, techniques for small sculpture

Week 2: Apply sculpting techniques, play with ideas to create a series of creatures/figures/sculptures

A really great class, so glad I took it. You learn techniques and skills and get 1:1 help to guide you through any mishaps or questions you have along the way. Aoife is an excellent teacher, and the vibe of the class is really laid back and relaxing. Absolutely recommend!

This was such a fun class and I learned so many skills that I'll take away. Looking forward to playing around with some clay at home.
