The Art of Pizza - The Woodfired Classic & Modern Day Slice

Next Available: 14 Oct 1:30PM
3.0 hours

Description

Cue the Dean Martin music… it’s time for some SERIOUS pizza making and eating! Welcome to our brand-new, exciting Breaducation class, where we will uncover the mysteries behind the art of making incredible pizza! With help from the industry professionals, the grandmothers of the bustling streets in Napoli & Rome, we have cultivated the recipes that achieve the most outstanding slice you can fit your mouth around. And with the knowledge from our artisan bakers at Brasserie Bread, learn about how we can better ferment our doughs to achieve an even more tasty, and digestible crust.

With so few ingredients, pizza is one of the most basic food to prepare, though there are many reasons why your pizzas may not be turning out as well as you might have planned. Allow our Breaducation trainer to help debunk the secrets behind a great pizza dough; you will learn how to mix it by hand, and even go home with the recipe! We will be making two very different types of pizza; the Neapolitan classic, the Margherita, and the modern day slice you would see on the busy streets of Rome, called Pizza al Taglio, translating to “pizza by the cut, or slice”. Have a go at baking your Margherita in our commercial size woodfired “forno”, and learn how to apply these traditional baking methods at home in any domestic oven. We will discuss the knowhow of buying the very best ingredients and where to find them.

30 August 2017 • The Art of Pizza - The Woodfired Classic & Modern...

Highlight of the course - just how simple it is to make authentic Italian-style pizza dough and use a wood-fire oven. A fun afternoon.

30 August 2017 • The Art of Pizza - The Woodfired Classic & Modern...

This was so good that we were surprised to learn we were only the second group to do this new pizza class. Anthony was an excellent instructor, and the group was the perfect size for us all to have a chance to get hands-on with dough, and to all take turns at cooking our shaped and topped pizzas in the woodfired oven. Learning how to stretch and shape a pizza base was the highlight, but it was an excellent class on many fronts. Highly recommended.

29 August 2017 • The Art of Pizza - The Woodfired Classic & Modern...

The whole experience was fantastic! Anthony's knowledge and instruction was first rate, and his enthusiasm wonderful. As per the description, I learnt everything I have ever wanted to know about making pizza. I have been able to replicate the results in my home kitchen, proving the recipe and the techniques. I would highly recommend this class to anyone...especially if Anthony continues to be the instructor. The cost of the class will very quickly be offset by the fact that we will not be buying takeaway pizza anytime in the near future...maybe never!
