Description

This is for those who have already dabbled in some vegie growing but want a little bit more knowledge. Soil pH testing, crop rotation basics, successful seed sowing and tips for specific vegies will be part of what we do in this class.

Presented by Maria Ciavarella

Maria has grown up with a rich Italian heritage, with a typically Italian love of good food.  This love encompasses the growing of it, its preparation and its preservation. She is a trained science teacher and is passionate about gardening and the environment. Maria has a young family who are all being instilled with a love of gardening. Given her teaching background and her own home grown experience with kids, she is often called upon to give talks and gardening demos at schools and kindergartens.

20 September 2016 • Vegie Gardening: Beyond the Basics

The class provided a lot information about the specific requirements of different vegetables and gave me a structure to implement for crop rotation. It gave me the confidence to use the pH test kit that has been sitting in the cupboard. A really useful class and a great presenter.

the class was great i learnt a lot about soil preparation. All classes are beneficial if you can come home with only one important thing that you have learnt then they are successful classes. I came home with many tips. Maria was great presentation very informative. I will definitely recommend these classes. Thankyou for presenting them at the Nursery,
