This leadlighting class was great... The teachers were fantastic & lended a hand whenever you needed it... Always happy for you to ask questions... Meeting new people & having fun in the class was awesome... Would definately do it again if i needed a refresh in it... Can't wait to do some projects with the skills I learnt...

02 Aug 2021Silver Jewellery Workshop - Beginners
The silver beginners workshop was such a great experience for both my daughter and I and it was something we enjoyed doing together. Sarah was a great teacher, very helpful and made sure the class was run in a relaxed and comfortable environment. The studio was great! I would highly recommend learning at the Old Auction House, also the town of Kyneton was lovely. A experience all round.

SO MUCH FUN! And such a calm environment. Excellent teacher! Go at your own pace and nothing seemed daunting. We were stoked with the rings we made. 10/10 would recommend!

The Old Auction House is an independently run multi-use arts precinct located in the regional Victorian town of Kyneton, just an hour north of Melbourne.  Housed in a historic weatherboard building, which served as the much loved Ferris auction rooms for over 80 years, the precinct opened in April 2017 and is home to a variety of artistic spaces.

The Old Auction House is currently home to a retail shop specialising in quality Australian handmade items, four working artist studios including local glass artists Leadlight By Ettore, a teaching space for visiting artists, and two gallery spaces with rotating exhibitions.

The Old Auction House is open 7 days and the entire space has been renovated to be accessible for those with prams, wheelchairs, and mobility issues.

The Old Auction House has a focus on community engagement in the arts. Each studio runs a variety of classes with different artists and materials throughout the year. Some of our Studios and regular teachers are listed below!

Leadlight By Ettore - With over 40 years of experience in glass arts, Ettore and Rhain run weekend workshops, term classes, private groups, school holiday classes and 2 hour sessions. LBE run courses in a variety of glass arts and skills including fusing (warm glass), copper-foiling, leadlighting, and mosaics.

Kyneton Craftery - Craft, Chat & Caffeinate!  With a love of everything craft, Kyneton Craftery run a variety of craft classes for adults and children. We believe you don't have to be able to draw or paint to craft and you are never too old!!! Beading, wire jewellery, stamp carving, linocuts and printing, fabric dyeing, marbling, cardmaking, embossing, alcohol ink, acrylic pouring, macrame and the list goes on!

Teaching Space - The Old Auction House also has a variety of visiting artists who teach their own specialty classes for beginners through to master classes.
