Spend your Tuesday mornings exploring your creativity, in the relaxed social space of our mud brick studio in Montsalvat.

This 8 week course has been designed for the beginner and for those with some experience of clay who wish to continue to refine their skills in making ceramics.

Our experienced and friendly tutor, Josephine Cassar, will help you discover (or perhaps rediscover) the art of forming ceramic vessels. Her experiences and wisdom will enrich and open your creative process.

This course is structured to include instruction on the techniques for both wheel throwing and hand-building. The sessions will include ongoing discussions on surface decoration and the complex art of glazing and firing using our special glazes developed by Sergei Shatrov, Clay Talk's Coordinator.

You will be encouraged to explore your unique creativity and individual styles for making mugs, bowls, plates, vases and much more.

Why Clay Talk?

Our class sizes are small so you can develop your skills, find your individual style and learn at your own pace. Clay Talk's spacious and beautifully designed ceramic studio is a great space to tap into your creativity.

What you will learn:

* Wheel throwing techniques including wedging and clay preparation, centering and pulling up a form

* Hand-building techniques including coiling, pinching and using molds

* Basic Surface decoration and use of underglazes, sgraffito and carving

* Glazing techniques and firing

What’s included:

* A free bag of clay to start you off

* Free $50 of firing credit

* Use of our Studio produced glazes

* Use of studio tools
