Continued class in silversmithing to extend developing skills in making a beaker. I have been to several classes now and am gaining a lot of skill towards metal shaping. The teachers are very patient and guide you in your achievements. I have also taken a short jewellery making class with them over a 4 day period and this has been very rewarding. Phill the (Owner silversmith) taught me how to take my design as a basic drawing and make it into jewellery. I learnt how to solder, shape and cut intricate shapes in very small objects. I made a Necklace, Broach and a ring. I am only 17 and very pleased with the lessons with one on one instruction. I am considering becoming a silversmith/jeweller now as I am enjoying the experience of creating my own designs. Everyone I have shown my finished designs too is impressed. I can't wait till next weeks lesson it's a regular activity for dad and me now. I would recommend this to high school age who like metal work or creating art.
