Excellent. A rationale and logical approach to the applied biochemistry/science of coffee making combined with practical demonstrations and hands on training. What more could you ask for? Nothing. David simply brilliant, thank you.

Cancellations & Refunds

If the organiser cancels the class:

You are entitled to a full refund.

If you can't attend the class:

You’re welcome to send someone in your place.

OR

  • A refund can be requested 5 days before class starts. An admin fee of AU$55.00 applies.
  • A transfer can be requested 5 days before the class starts. Free of charge.
  • A credit note can be requested 5 days before the class starts. Free of charge.

No changes will be allowed after these times.

Terms & Conditions

The Terms and Conditions below represent a legally binding contract between you (the customer) and us (The Espresso School) and does not in any way affect your rights afforded to you under Australian Consumer Law.


1. DEFINITIONS AND INTERPRETATION

1.1 Definitions

(a) Australian Consumer Law means the provisions set out in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.

(b) Business day means a day other than Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday in the state where the course/workshop/events are conducted.


1.2 Interpretations

(a) "We", "us", and "our" refer to The Espresso School.

(b) "You" and "your" means the person or entity who is purchasing or enrolled in a product, course, workshop, or event.

(c) "Student" or "attendee" means the person who is enrolled in a course, workshop, or event. 

(d) "Booking", "order" and "transaction" means any payment made for a product, course, workshop, or event, and may be used interchangeably. 

(e) "Absentee" means any student/attendee who fails to attend or is denied entry into a course/workshop/event.

(f) Singular forms include the plural forms and vice versa.

(g) Present forms include past forms and vice versa.

(h) A reference to a clause or paragraph is a reference to a clause or paragraph of these Terms and Conditions.

(i) Headings are for ease of reference only and do not affect the meaning or interpretation of these Terms and Conditions.


2. DELIVERY OF COURSES / WORKSHOPS / EVENTS

2.1 In the event that we (The Espresso School) are unable to conduct a course/workshop/event, students will be advised of any cancellation via email and/or telephone at the earliest possible opportunity.  

(a) Course/workshop/event cancellations due to forces outside of our control including but not limited to; extreme weather conditions, an act of God, loss of electricity, loss of water supply, or a COVID-19 lockdown - students will be rescheduled into the next available date of their preference


3. CANCELLATIONS / REFUNDS

Refund eligibility

3.1 All refund requests must be submitted to us via the form on https://www.espressoschool.com.au/request-a-refund/ 

3.2 Refunds will not be issued for course/workshop/event cancellations outside of our control, as defined in Clause 2.1 (a) above.

3.3 You are eligible for a refund if your refund request is made:

(a) within 24 hours of the initial order confirmation and the course/workshop/event hasn't commenced

(b) at least five (5) business days before the scheduled course/workshop/event start date indicated in the initial order email confirmation

3.3 Any refund requests that fail to meet the requirements of Clause 3.1 and one of; Clause 3.3 (a) or Clause 3.3 (b) will not be refunded.

3.4 If a refund is approved, the refund shall be returned to you via the method used to process the original booking/transaction.

(a) Refunds processed via WeTeachMe will be less any booking/transaction fees incurred by the vendor (The Espresso School) per attendee. 


Non-refundable items

3.5 If you purchase a "Combine and Save" course package, once your first course has commenced, refunds will not be issued.

3.6 Gift vouchers,  gift cards, and credit notes are non-refundable.

3.7 Fees defined in Section 4 and Section 5 are non-refundable.

3.8 Transaction fees incurred by the vendor (The Espresso School) are non-refundable.


4. TRANSFER REQUESTS

Please ensure you are available on the day and time you have enrolled in. However, should you need to reschedule your course/workshop/event:


4.1 Transfer requests must be submitted via the form on https://www.espressoschool.com.au/change-date/

4.2 A $55 fee per attendee will be applied for every transfer request made within five (5) business days of the scheduled start date and time. 

(a) Transfer requests made within 24 hours of the original booking/transaction date and time, and before the start of the course/workshop/event are exempt from this fee.

(b) Students requesting a transfer due to cough/cold symptoms must show evidence of a negative COVID-19 test for the fee to be waived.


5. STUDENT EXPECTATIONS AND LIABILITY

5.1 Students/attendees are required to wear flat-soled non-slip shoes that cover the entire foot whilst on premises at The Espresso School. Unacceptable footwear includes anything that exposes any part of the foot up to the ankle. Examples of unacceptable footwear include but not limited to heels, sandals, thongs/flip-flops, etc.

(a) Students/attendees who choose to wear footwear not conforming to the requirements above shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless The Espresso School, its parent company, trustees, directors, and staff for any injuries sustained as a result of wearing said footwear whilst on premises at The Espresso School.

(b) Under no circumstances will The Espresso School, its parent company, trustees, directors, or staff be held responsible or liable in any way for any claims, damages, losses, expenses, costs, or liabilities whatsoever resulting from or arising directly or indirectly from students/attendees wearing footwear deemed unacceptable on premises at The Espresso School.

5.2 Students/attendees are expected to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time of the course indicated on the booking confirmation email.

(a) Students/attendees who arrive more than 20 minutes past the scheduled start time of a course/workshop/event will be denied entry and subject to Clause 6.1.


COVID-19

5.3 Students/attendees are required to complete a touchless COVID-19 contact tracing form online upon arrival.

5.4 Students/attendees will be required to wear a face mask at all times whilst on premises at The Espresso School. One will be provided for those without.

5.5 As a condition of entry, students/attendees must return a forehead temperature reading below 37.4 degrees Celcius to be admitted entry measured via an IR thermometer.

(a) In the interests of Public Health and protecting the community, any student/attendee who returns a body temperature reading at or above 37.4 degrees Celcius will be denied entry to The Espresso School.

(b) Any student/attendee denied entry due to a body temperature reading at or above 37.4 degrees Celcius will be required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test result before being allowed to reschedule at no additional cost.


6. ABSENTEES / MISSED CLASSES

6.1 Students/attendees who fail to attend their booked course/workshop/event, including those denied entry as defined in Clause 5.2 (a) will incur a $75 fee to reschedule a new class date. 

(a) Rescheduling requests must be made within seven (7) days of the original course/workshop/event date via http://www.espressoschool.com.au/change-date 

(b) Failure to reschedule within the period defined in Clause 6.1 (a) will result in forfeiture of the entire payment.

(c) Rescheduling a new course/workshop/event is the responsibility of the student/attendee.


7. GIFT VOUCHERS, GIFT CARDS AND CREDIT NOTES

7.1 Gift vouchers and gift cards are valid for a period of three (3) years from the date of issue and must be redeemed before its stated expiry.

7.2 Credit notes are valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of issue and must be redeemed before its stated expiry.

7.3 Failure to redeem a gift voucher, gift card or credit note before its expiry date will result in forfeiture of the entire value of the gift voucher, gift card, or credit note. Extensions will not be granted.

7.4 Gift vouchers, gift cards, and credit notes are not transferable for money or any other goods/merchandise.

7.5 Gift vouchers, gift cards, and credit notes may be transferred to and redeemed by third parties.
