How to Win Friends and Influence People (with massage)
Would you like to learn how to help your buddy, mate or 'close personal associate' to relax and unwind with a massage after a heavy day?
Reduce your friend's muscle aches and tension, melt away their stress, take the edge off a headache, and just make him or her feel good. If you have been reluctant about giving someone a neck rub because you feel clunky or think you might do it wrong: this workshop is for you.
There is a sense of confidence that comes from knowing that you can help your friends feel good; and, sometimes, you can know what they need, and provide it, before they even know that they need it. This compassionate, connecting touch is a skill that you can learn, practise and improve throughout your whole life. And once you get good at it, you'll never be short of friends!
This class is for the absolute beginner who wants to learn how to confidently give a relaxing, simple, awesome massage.
Spaces are limited to eight people (i.e. 4x2) to enable me to offer you one-on-one tutorials during the class.
Plus, you'll also get free samples of two different water dispersible professional massage oils from Melrose Health, as well as some music by Kiwi artist Module, and herbal tea from Tulsi to start you off!
What to expect
You are not expected to take off any clothes — you can use the skills you will learn with or without clothing, so you can adapt what you learn as you please. So, while singlets and tank tops are probably the best idea on the day, a tee shirt is just fine, too.
The idea is for you to take away skills you can use to give anyone a massage wherever you are, using what you have at hand.

I have been an accredited massage therapist since 2007 having qualified at the NZ College of Massage. I currently practice in Ascot Vale at Feel Better Massage. My industry accreditation is with the Australian Association of Massage Therapists (member # 027422), and I hold a current first aid certificate.
Joining me is my partner and 'stunt body' Claire, who will help provide demonstrations for the class.
As well as providing therapeutic massage services and public classes like this, I provide volunteer massage to PeterMac Cancer Centre and the Anxiety Recovery Center of Victoria on a rotational weekly basis.

Feel Better Massage is the massage therapy practice of James Maddock.
Besides providing high quality remedial, relaxation and sports massage in Ascot Vale, I provide volunteer massage to PeterMac Cancer Center and the Anxiety Recovery Center of Victoria. I have given public presentations on massage for anxiety, and I co-lead an informal massage exchange group through Facebook.
I run workshops for absolute beginners. I teach basic massage skills such as how to communicate what you like and don't like, how to become more confident when giving a massage, and how to improvise with your environment, wherever you are, so you can give a truly relaxing or effective back rub, shoulder rub, head, hand or foot massage.
I look forward ot seeing you at my workshops!
