ALCOHOL INKS | CREATING DRAMA AND FLOW | Barbara Niglio
In this workshop, you will learn how to have fun with Alcohol Inks! They are very different from other types of inks and paints and can be used in a variety of ways. The achievable effects vary from colourfully vibrant to soft and whimsical and they can be used on some surprising materials including plastic, glass and porcelain.
The workshop includes:
Guidance in techniques to use and create with alcohol inks
Demonstration of painting processes
A white bowl to paint
Special papers and materials to paint on
The use of alcohol inks and equipment in class
Your own unique creations to take home: a decorated bowl, a painting
This fun and eco-friendly class will be led by Barbara Niglio. Barbara has worked in the fashion industry and has taught in the Fashion area at Box Hill Institute for many years. She has developed a love for repurposing and all things sustainable. Unusual waste materials are often used in wearable art pieces and these have featured in her exhibitions. Teaching skills and encouraging creativity to class participants gives Barbara a deep satisfaction as she endeavours to pass on the creative vibe and sense of achievement and wellbeing that goes along with it.

In the not so distant past we were able to explore and engage in a creative space within the boundaries of our domestic environment. More recently with the advent of mass produced furnishings and readily available home decor, coupled with a trend toward apartment living and the rise of the dual income family then this space for the creative endeavour within the domestic sphere has all but disappeared.
In recognition of this the Guild of Objects is a space that supports and holds space for all to pursue, source or explore their own innate creativity. The Guild provides a space for artists, craftspeople and makers to sell their products. The Guild runs workshops in a beautiful home like environment that gives everyone the opportunity to explore their own creativity and finally the Guild organises and runs design, craft and art tours to Japan, Bali and France in order to provide a forum to explore the world through a creative lens.
The Guild is a space that honours the notion of Connection through Creativity.
Connections with ones creativity, connection with ones self and connection to others through mutual pursuit.

The Guild of Objects reserves the right to cancel any scheduled workshop in the event of insufficient participants.
In the unfortunate circumstance of a workshop being cancelled, students will be notified before the commencement of the workshop and you will be offered a transfer into a future class or a full refund.
If you are unable to attend your workshop, the following applies.
7 days notice - refund (minus administration fee) or transfer into a future class.
72 hours notice - refund (minus 50%) or transfer into a future class
Less than 72 hours notice - transfer into a future class
Less than 24 hours notice - we are unable to offer a transfer or to refund
Our classes are dependent on bringing together teachers and booking space. Late cancellations mean that we are unable to allocate your place to someone else and in some circumstances, this may make classes not financially viable for us to run. It is for this reason that we put implements these cancellation policies.

You may be photographed at this event. Please advise us in writing prior to the workshop via email to email@example.com if you do not wish to be photographed prior to the Workshop taking place.
Cancellations - Guild of Objects reserves the right to cancel any scheduled workshop. In the event that the Guild of Objects cancels a workshop, you will be offered either a full refund or the opportunity to transfer into the next class.
CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) RESPONSE
The Guild of Objects has put together an action plan to mitigate the risks from coronavirus (Covid-19).
The Guild of Objects acknowledges the health risks of people gathering together but sees events such as workshops are a vital part of our community and can continue to be a place of safety and enjoyment if everyone plays their part.
The objective of the Guild is to support Artists, Makers and Craftspeople and as such our workshops provide financial support for the artists who work with us.
At all our events we will be putting in place additional hygiene measures in order to help minimise the possibility of contamination. This will include hand washing facilities and an increase in the frequency of cleaning of shared spaces.
We have limited the number of participants at each workshop to 12 as this will ensure that we can maintain the recommended social distance between participants.
If you are ill or have been placed into home isolation the Guild will allow you to transfer into a later workshop or if you give us 48 hours’ notice we will provide a refund.
For all clients whom we are currently mentoring, we will continue to work with you. If, however you are unwell or have been placed in home isolation then we will look to using Zoom as a means of continuing your mentoring.
While we have put hygiene measures and increased our efforts to minimise contamination, attendance at our workshops is at your own risk.
