Rag Rugs with The Sewloist (22/10/17)

Next Available: 22 Oct 11:00AM
2.0 hours

Description

Join Naomi to learn the technique of making rugs from up-cycled fabric and remnants.

Using only a safety pin and strips of fabric we will weave together a rug.

Making rag rugs is a great way to up-cycle bed linen, old clothing, and to make use of your growing fabric stash.

We will provide a selection of fabrics to work with on the day however you are welcome to bring your own lightweight woven cottons that can be torn into strips to make your rag rug.

This workshop gives you the starting point and technique for making rag rugs, however the process of making your own rug will take more than 2 hours.  This means that you will be taking your project home with you to complete.

Some materials provided however participants should bring some of their own fabrics. Old sheets and doona covers and cotton fabrics are suitable. Pens and pencils and a notebook are also handy to bring.

Please note, the number of tickets that you can choose from to purchase reflects the number of total tickets still available, if you cannot select multiple tickets it means there is only 1 ticket/space left in this workshop.

Suitable for adults and children aged 12 and up. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult (both must purchase a ticket). The workshop will be taught at the adult level.

Cancellation Policy: As we purchase materials based on the number of attendees for each workshop we are unable to refund tickets. We do welcome you to pass your ticket to a friend to come in your place. Please email us if you do wish to change the name on the ticket.

12 October 2016 • Rag Rugs with The Sewloist (22/10/17)

Naomi Huntsman's rag rug class was excellent. All the materials for the class were provided. It was a lovely small group so each participant got one on one assistance from Naomi. The skills we were taught not only make beautiful rugs but is also great recycling of fabrics, good for the planet. Highly recommend this workshop.

This is a lovely simple craft. The instructor was very easy to follow and helpful to all. Also the location was perfect. This wasn't my first Hands On class and won't be my last. Thank you.
