Pigs Fly! Knitted Wall Hangings with Annette Fitton

People who can knit, follow a knitting pattern and/or knitting chart


What you will learn: 

· How to assess the feasibility of a project.

· Which shapes; stitch patterns; yarn; needle size to choose and why

· How to measure; swatch; graph; knit; sew in place.

· How to document; promote; and progress.


What you will get:

· A methodology for decorating with lace knitting.

· An A4 wall hanging made using the collection of samples knitted over the course of the day.


What to bring: 

· A4 Graph Book, 5mm graph, pencil, pen, tape measure, ruler, small general purpose scissors, sewing pins, sewing needles large and small, a variety of knitting needles small to large, a variety of white yarn from lace weight to double knitting (8ply), some dark sewing thread,

· 2 old wire coat hangers.

· An A4 pin board made by laminating 3 pieces of recycled corrugated cardboard with a little PVA before leaving it overnight under a chopping board with something heavy standing on it. N.B. Alternate the direction of the corrugations in the sandwich for a more stable pin board.

The Guild's aim is to bring together those who practise handweaving, spinning and allied crafts and to help and encourage them to increase their knowledge, understanding and skills by discussion, demonstration, exhibition, teaching and the provision of quality resource materials.

Our Guild rooms house an excellent library and craft supply, sell members work and host a wonderful range of interest groups, classes and workshops.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations and refunds

The Guild reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient numbers. If we cancel the workshop you will be notified and will be issued with a 100% refund.

If you decide to withdraw 7 or more days prior to the workshop/course date the Guild will retain a 10% administration fee.

If you decide to withdraw less than 7 days before the workshop/course date the Guild will retain 100% of your workshop fee.
