They say that Rome being the capital has no distinctive cuisine of its own; but you would not be able to say that to a true Roman.
Rome has preserved its traditional cuisine in its home kitchens and trattorias. Rome the province has a wealth of vegetables and dishes which are unique in Italy.
From dishes so popular that they have spread worldwide to those virtually unknown, we will explore a side of Roman cuisine you have never experienced.

FEEDBACK ON MY CLASSES:
As much as I loved the food and watching it being prepared in front of me, I think the part that I liked most was the lady herself. Sandra is clearly a lover of creativity and style and she shares a special intimacy with her participants that makes her lessons very real and honest. Attending a La Cucina Di Sandra cooking class is but a small invitation into Sandra’s world. Go visit the Italian lady in her beautiful Richmond home and get a taste of what REAL Italian cooking is all about. Thanks Sandra! Bree (www.imageffect.com.au)
Before attending her class we had never met Sandra, but already we’re talking about how we can swing another trip to Melbourne. Sandra’s passion for Italy and generosity with her knowledge make this an experience worth travelling for. We drove eight hours from Adelaide to get to La Cucina di Sandra and it was indeed ‘vale la pena’ – worth the effort! Here’s all you need to know to book your own evening or buy a class for a friend. So go ahead – take a trip to Italy, if only for an evening. [Mary Louise (www.heartinabruzzo.me)]
Fantastic evening! Sandra is so knowledgeable and really has a passion for food which comes through in her explanation of all things cooking. Highly recommended!! Thanks Sandra!
We absolutely loved our experience at La Cucina di Sandra. We enjoyed a "Night in Rome" with Sandra and her husband in their converted warehouse space which is filled with warmth and hospitality (not to mention amazing cooking aromas). We enjoyed a private class for 4 people and the atmosphere was like an informal dinner party. Sandra has such an amazing knowledge of Italy and its food which was fascinating. This isn't a typical cooking lesson. You don't prepare the food yourself but instead you watch and listen as Sandra weaves together regional history, provenance of dishes, cooking methods and insider tips on where to buy the best produce. This is like watching your Zia or Nonna making good, wholesome comfort food and listening to the local gossip while she does it. No pressure to make pasta, just the pleasure of watching a master at work. We just sat back, sipped some wine and soaked up the information between scoffing down sublime food. I can't wait to make the recipes at home. Every course was delicious and cooked beautifully. I will definitely be going back for another helping.
