This intimate, small group five week class is aimed at students who want to work on their own projects at their own pace with the help of a friendly, qualified teacher. It is suitable for all levels, from continuing or advanced beginners to intermediate & advanced students.

We will help you choose a project to match your skill level, and it is your choice whether you want to make an item of adult or kids clothing, an accessory, home furnishings or a bag. Bring in your pattern, sewing kit and fabric, and take advantage of your teachers knowledge and inspiration from your fellow students.

Learn how to read a sewing pattern, dressmaking or perfect for more advanced sewers who want to better their technique.

Due to the small class size, this is a very social and fun class, with tea, coffee and biscuits provided. But don't be deceived, you will learn heaps! Bring your own sewing machine, or use ours at no extra charge.

The course runs over 5 classes on a weeknight. Classes are 2.5hours long.

Please note, there is are no classes on public holidays, which may take the 5 week term over six weeks. For the September class, there is no class on the 3rd of October, making this a six week term.

  • You know how to thread and use the basic functions on your sewing machine, wind a bobbin, and have ideally completed a couple of sewing projects before.
  • If you have attended any of our beginners classes or workshops, you will be ready for this class. You can also book a private lesson (at a discounted rate) prior to the start date of the class if you have never sewn before to go over the basics.

What a great way to learn. It is a small friendly class, that allows you to bring along a project of your choice. You learn so much from a fantastic teacher and as a bonus you also get to learn from other peoples projects. Highly recommended.

Loved this class! The teacher is exceptional she can lead you in creating whatever you desire. She is patience, encouraging and inspiring. The best sewing teacher I have ever had. I have now attended 2 Sewing Classes and 1 Pattern Making & Block Construction and I will be attending more. The classroom is gorgeous and the sense of inclusion is perfect.
