Yin yoga is a slow - moving grounded practise, where we hold each posture for 2-3 minutes. 

It is an extraordinary practise focusing on the mind and the body. The benefits from holding a posture for this long is that it targets not just the muscles but the connective tissues, fascia and ligaments. It also brings calmness to this fast - paced culture we live in. 

I will guide you through this tranquil class, offering modifications or deeper stretches for each posture for those who wish, and helping everyone to gain a sense of stillness and of the present.

  • How to practise meditation and how to stretch in each posture correctly.

What to bring
  • Bring a Yoga mat/exercise mat, blanket, jumper, a tea towel and a cushion or block. If you do not have a mat than find yourself a blanket or a towel for a comfortable surface when laying down.
What to wear

Sports wear or clothes you can comfortably move in

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Refund and transfer requests.
Refunds, transfers or credit will not be processed if you cancel within 48 hours of the class or event commencing.
To request a refund or transfer, Emily Storr requires at least 48 hours notice via email prior to the start of a class or event.

Missed classes.
Emily Storr does not offer refunds, transfers, or makeup sessions for missed classes.
If you can't make a class, you can arrange with Emily Storr to send someone else in your place.

Cancelled class/event.
In the event that a class is cancelled by Emily Storr, students will be notified via text message or email and entitled to a full refund, transfer or credit.

13 August 2020 • Yin Yoga

I am a yoga newbie and a 50 plus male and stiff as a plank, so i was little apprehensive at first. I needn't have worried this is an excellent class which caters for the advanced to the beginner. Each yoga position comes with a modification so i was able to feel included. Emily is a fantastic instructor very calming and explains each position and where you should be feeling the stretch , so you know you are doing it right. The hour goes by very fast and at the end i feel very relaxed and get the best night sleep of the week. I already feel the benefits and i thoroughly recommend this class to anyone who is thinking of doing yoga, you won't regret it . thank you Emily.

Emily’s Yin yoga was everything I was looking for without even realising it. As a dancer I would consider myself “flexible” however truly holding each pose for that bit longer than you think, made me realise just how tight and stressed my joints and muscles have become due to life. Even just after one class I feel more open and relaxed yet able to tackle and take on another day.
