This is a day workshop conducted by Clay Sisters Alli Duckworth and Karen Goldsmith
Starting at 10am and finishing aproximately at 4pm
A light lunch and morning tea will be included
In this workshop learn how to create colored clay in the neriage style and then make small pottery forms such as trinket boxes, small dishes and jewelry from your clay.
Your work will be glazed and fired in our kilns by our technician.
This is an all inclusive class there are no extra costs involved
- You will learn the neriage style of colouring clay
- How to make several small pieces of ceramics from your coloured clay
- Several pieces of finished work to be collected at a later date
- Your enthusiasm! first and and apron/oldshirt too

Muddy Girl Studio is the ceramic studio of potter and teacher Claire Johnson.
Claire has worked in the ceramic industry for the past 18 years. After graduating from Chisholm Tafe with a Diploma of Ceramics she went on to become a facilitator of children’s clay activities for Clayplay Inc. For the past four years Claire has been teaching throwing classes at Northcote Pottery Supplies. She has worked for commercial manufacturers such as Robert Gordon Australia and Clayworks as a technician and has undertaken freelance commissions from companies such as TXU and Heatmaster.
Claire currently works and teaches from her studio situated in an idyllic location at the foot of Mt Dandenong. Her aim is to create and share a love of handcrafted ceramics, vessels that are not only for everyday use but are also objects that can be cherished for a lifetime. Her works is predominately thrown on the potters wheel from stoneware or porcelain clay and high fired to 1280 Celsius for strength and durability.
A class or course can only be cancelled up to 15 days prior to commencement.
Any class or course cancelled after this will not be refunded.
We do however allow transfers to another person.
You must notify us before the commencement of the first class.
Make up classes may be possible if a single class is missed.
