About this experience

Our weekly classes provide an enthusiastic environment for exploring your creativity with clay. Learn pottery wheel throwing techniques, the mastering of hand building and the joy of sculpture. The class is not structured to deliver particular outcomes; more to support your creative development and confidence with the medium. You will learn clay preparation through to decorating, glazing and firing techniques. All materials and firing are included in the cost of the lessons.


Your Host

Ian McColl, also known as 'Ox' achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Ceramics at Bendigo many hundreds of years ago and worked as a production potter for many years following at some well-known potteries in Victoria.  He eventually did his teaching degree is also a school teacher with an extensive career behind him.   The Darley Studio has been a successful and thriving production and teaching pottery for over 5 years and now the Taradale studio is set to offer the same welcoming environment to unleash your creativity with clay!

Such fun! Excellent banter and dry humour from Ian, especially great teaching, so helpful and loves answering lots and lots of students questions, recommended anyone going to oxart come prepared with a laundry list of pottery and existential questions.
