A fun, thorough, easy to follow, 3 hour botanical watercolour workshop held with Brisbane based illustrator, Penelope Bell. Aimed at beginners, this class is a hands on tutorial in basic drawing, painting techniques and composition.
To celebrate the arrival of West Elm's Spring/ Summer collection, you will learn how to paint florals from an aerial and/ or side perspective. The workshop will focus on teaching you a variety of different painting techniques and skills which will be developed throughout the class. Participants will create a single floral composition using these skills and techniques.
Drawing from life as well as sourced photos participants will paint some of Spring's most beautiful botanicals. Capturing the life, happiness and joy flowers can bring, you will create your own work of art to frame and hang on the wall. Participants will be encouraged to observe, compose, draw and paint their own, individual masterpiece based on the skills being taught. The workshop is for any adult artistic skill level, with all materials supplied. Note: See the list of other items to bring.
A short break for light refreshments and nibbles (read delicious cheeseboard) will be taken and friendly conversation is encouraged!
