Risograph Printing Greeting Cards from Your Own Designs (Sydney)

Description

Make your own greetings cards using the Rizzeria’s printer in this 4-hour workshop.

Risograph printing is a fast, affordable way of producing high-quality prints. Students will learn the basics of Risograph printing including layouts and templates for A6 greetings cards. This is a great way to make your own cards for friends, to sell, make party invitations, Christmas or thank-you cards. This workshop is great for anyone who is interested in printing but is unfamiliar with Risograph printing.

You will get to print out and take home 20 A5 folded cards featuring your own artwork. These can be 20 all the same or up to 4 different designs. Artwork can be a maximum of 2 colours.

Please bring with you your pre-prepared artwork, a USB and if available your own device. More information on this will be emailed to you prior to class.

What we will cover:

  • Introduction to the Risograph machine
  • Introduction to the Risograph inks, discussing ink density and overlapping of colours
  • Templates, print areas and how to prepare A3 artwork to make A5 cards (which fold into A6)
  • Taking it in turns to print your own A3 sheets, cut and score them to make A5 cards. (envelopes provided)
  • Information to take home
  • If time allows extra prints can be made for an additional cost
  • Maximum 5 per class

The price of this class includes the cost of all printing supplies – paper, inks, risograph masters etc.

We own a two-colour Risograph press which people are welcome to come in and use with the assistance of a volunteer. Over the past eight years we have helped people print their graphic design assignments, posters, comics, invitations, zines, art prints, CD covers and much more.

Our Marrickville space also functions as a retail outlet for Rizzeria members and local artists. We run workshops in risograph printing, bookbinding, screenprinting, watercolour, illustration and much more.
