What to Bring

  • Ace Screen Board. 2mm-A2 (cost approx. $8) is a twin-sided display board available in 3 weights, 620, 880 or 1100gsm. It has superior triple-coated surface provides for screen printing, offset printing, architectural and model making. PH Neutral
  • Aquadhere / PVA Glue 200 ml
  • Uni Posca pen white (from Newsagent)
  • Cartridge paper - A2
  • Pencils ( 2b - 6b ) and brushes
  • Acrylic paints - colours of your choice (eg Reeves 75ml jar at $4.75)
  • Scissors & a NT Cutter or Stanley knife
  • Artline calligraphy pen 1.0 (available at newsagent)
  • Signo angelic colour - ball pen -white (available newsagent)
  • Photographs from your trips & an old magazine
  • Inks - colours of your choice 2-3 different colours and an old dish for mixing colours
  • Cutting board/ or old cardboard will serve the purpose
  • Tissue paper acid free (5 sheets) white 510 x 750mm at 10 cents a sheet
  • All other media in your collection of choice e.g. oil colours, oil crayons, pastel etc

At this weekend workshop there is an opportunity to explore your travel or at home photographs and sketches of cities and places further. Compositions will be created with master artist Kiat Sng using architectural rendering as well as adding colour with paper collage and photos. This workshop will excite and inform artists from beginner to advanced. Workshop participants may continue to work on in the studio after each workshop until 3pm.

Kiat Sng is a master ceramicist and draftsman Kiat Sng is also renowned for his jewel like and complex architectural mixed media paintings which explore his love of city environments around the world. Countless superb drawings record his travels in his sketch diaries later to be transformed into exquisite collage and mixed media works in his Brisbane studio.Having studied art in London, Japan, Florence and Rome Kiat Sng's paintings, ceramics and designs are held in many important collections in Singapore, China and Rome as well as in the Queensland Art Gallery. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally with his latest solo sell out exhibition held at Graydon Gallery Brisbane in 2014.

Kiat is also a well known art educator having lectured for many years at the Queensland College of Art and the Institute of Education and having also developed a following for his charismatic and information packed  workshop
