Description

OPEN wheel pottery – 8 week term classes will be offered on a Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday night from 6.00pm - 8.30pm.

 

This is an OPEN level class, available for beginner & intermediate level students

 

The OPEN class is suited to students who have experience or who are a complete beginner. This is for those wishing to expand & develop their throwing stills or develop these from the start. This class encourages individual development and learning for students with experience. 

 

Students will be notified once work has been fired and is ready to collect, generally 2-3 weeks after classes have completed. We cannot promise make up classes for any missed classes during the term. We will do our best to try and accommodate when absences arise. You will also have the opportunity to glaze work throughout the term when work has been bisque fired. 

 

The Studio is a comfortable working space with heating & air conditioning facilities, complete with showroom/Shop.

 

Cancellations & Transfer Policy

Bookings cancelled up to 10 days prior to the function will be refunded in full or transferred to a later date at no cost. 

Bookings cancelled 10 days or less before the function will be refunded (less 20% surcharge) if the vacancy can be resold at full price. If not resold the purchase price is forfeited. Alternatively, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to another person (please advise name of alternate within 24 hours of function)

  • How to centre clay to make basic forms such as cylinders and bowls
  • How to expand & develop throwing skills (intermediate level)
  • Glazing skills
What you will get
  • A set of your creations made on the day. Students will be notified once work has been glazed and ready to collect.

Please also note, that if you are driving you cannot park on Kent St as it’s permit only, try St David St or Moor St.

Must wear covered/closed shoes. Comfortable clothing.

Sarah Schembri is a Melbourne Ceramic Artist who is passionate about creating functional, tactile and visually appealing ceramics, particularly tableware. Being a lover of cooking and food in general, she is most interested in making pieces that are a pleasure to use in the home, pieces which are not only visually appealing but also functional & tactile.

Sarah is a brilliant teacher who welcomes students of all skill levels to join her passion of ceramics. Her generosity of spirit and encouragement allow students to shine. We are so pleased with our creations this term, we have caught the pottery bug and will definitely be back for more classes in 2019!
