Description
This class is suited to anyone interested in trying the pottery wheel for the first time.
Have you ever wanted to feel what it’s like to be on a pottery wheel? Perhaps you are interested in joining a term class but want to see if you like it before making the commitment? Then this class is for you. Bring a friend or come on your own to experience the joy of being on the wheel, learning to create and have some FUN!
At the end of class students may select 2 items each for their home. Work will be glazed in a colour of choice and fired (this process takes approximately 2-3 weeks). We will email you when your work is ready to collect.
Includes:
- Clay, tools and glazes
- Firing of 2 pieces (additional items can be kept charged at $20 per person*)
Duration: 2 hours
Experience: No experience required
Bring: An apron and towel
Wear: Clothes that can get dirty – this class is hands on. Closed shoes are essential
Children: Yes – over the age of 8 years (if accompanied by an adult)
Collection of work: Students will be emailed when their work is ready for collection (all work must be collected within 2 weeks)

Please also note, that if you are driving you cannot park on Kent St as it’s permit only, try St David St or Moor St.

Sarah Schembri is a Melbourne Ceramic Artist who is passionate about creating functional, tactile and visually appealing ceramics, particularly tableware. Being a lover of cooking and food in general, she is most interested in making pieces that are a pleasure to use in the home, pieces which are not only visually appealing but also functional & tactile.
