She Skills workshops are designed by women, for women. We want you to feel confident enough to imagine, design and create great things.
In this full day class you will learn how to design and custom build your own work bench, using a range of power tools including a drill, impact driver, circular saw, drop saw and jig saw. Benches can be built up to a maximum size of 2400mm X 600mm (2.4m X 0.6m). You decide the size of the bench according to the space in your home. Castors can be added should you wish to make your work bench mobile. We can arrange for transport to get your bench home (at your cost), or you disassemble the bench to transport it in your car. We are happy to store your bench for a week or so if you can't arrange your own transport on the day.
Come along and build your own bench or bring your friend, sister, flatmate, mother, daughter or partner and build a bench together.
We teach in a safe, encouraging and social environment with other like minded women. You shouldn't expect to go home an expert, but you will gain an insight into what's possible with practice!!
She Skills is building a community of confident and capable women, who are happy to get outside their comfort zone and take on a challenge.
We are proud members of the Maker Movement. In a world of rampant consumption and keeping up with the latest trends, the simple art of making something with your own hands can bring you immeasurable pleasure. And if it’s made well, it might just last you a lifetime.

She Skills is a collaboration between partners in life and work, Meg and Clint Solly, whose creative credentials go way back. Team Solly has been a creative force since 2000, when they met as performers.
Clint is a qualified furniture tradesperson with 20 years experience building everything from solid timber furniture to theatrical sets.
Meg has been Clint's trusty trades assistant for many years and is now officially an apprentice cabinet maker. Meg has worked on large construction projects around the country.
Together they have years of experience in training people of all ages. She Skills is a passion project that challenges stereotypes and helps women to find a new confidence to try skills that they previously thought were beyond their capabilities.
