Continuing on from Part 1 of the Intensive Torch workshop part 2 helps you develop more advanced soldering skills, as well as looking at fusing and reticulation.

Always wondered how to do multiple solder joins using just hard solder? It is possible! Majella Beck will share her soldering expertise, tips and tricks to allow you to get much more out of your soldering. Be able to recognise colours and temperatures when annealing and soldering. Learn how to choose the right flame for the right job. Please note that the Intensive Torch 1 course is a pre-requisite for Part 2.

MEET YOUR TUTOR

Majella is a jeweller, object designer and teacher based in Sydney. She combines precious and non-precious materials and sees her work as a constant exploration and evaluation of what makes jewellery precious. Majella is SquarePeg's resident tutor and teaches a range of courses including Beginners Jewellery Course, the Wax Carving and Casting Workshop and the Stone Setting Course. She currently teaches a variety of courses relating to contemporary jewellery and objects. Majella participates regularly in exhibitions and has work held in private collections.

Class Schedule

  • All the consumables you need to make your projects (ie saw blades, emery paper and drill bits) as well as all the hand tools and equipment you need.

  • We provide safety equipment and training on how to use all relevant equipment.
What to wear

All students must wear proper enclosed shoes (no sandals or thongs), long pants or skirts and have long hair tied back.

    2. Notwithstanding section 1, the course fees may be refundable in the event that a course is cancelled or oversubscribed.
    3. We may cancel a course in the event that there is an insufficient number of students subscribed to the course.
    4. It is the responsibility of the student to attend each class in the course and no refund, or provision of any additional classes, is available for non-attendance of all or part of the course.
    5. All students must be over 16 years of age.
