Learn tips and tricks that apply directly to faceted stone bezel setting and jewellery making in general during this 2-day intensive collet bezel setting workshop.

Progress your skill level and take the appearance of your bezel setting of round and square faceted stones to a higher level. Cast silver settings and synthetic stones will be provided so bring along a few silver shanks so we will be able to quickly get into the setting itself. Students will complete either a round and square settings. This is suitable for professional jewellers and very experienced hobbyists.

Class Schedule

Duration: 12 hours 10am to 4pm

What you will learn
  • Learn tips and tricks that apply directly to faceted stone bezel setting and jewellery making
  • Progress your skill level and take the appearance of your bezel setting of round and square faceted stones to a higher level
  • Students will complete either a round and square settings
What you will get
  • A 6mm round and a 6mm square silver collet setting (extra 5,6,7 & 8mm square silver collet settings may be purchased)
  • 2 synthetic stones
  • Timber dowel & wax for wax stick
  • Timber handle and concrete nail for making a setting tool
  • All the consumables you need to make your projects (ie saw blades, emery paper, burrs and drill bits) as well as all the hand tools and equipment you need.
  • Tea or coffee and yummy biscuits
  • We provide safety equipment and training on how to use all relevant equipment.

What to bring
  • A notebook and pen/pencil
  • An apron
  • Covered shoes
  • Something to solder your settings to – silver ring shanks (say 3 to 4mm profile) if you want to make rings or simply some sheet that will help secure the setting into the wax stick
What to wear

All students must wear proper enclosed shoes (no sandals or thongs), long pants or skirts and have long hair tied back.

    2. Notwithstanding section 1, the course fees may be refundable in the event that a course is cancelled or oversubscribed.
    3. We may cancel a course in the event that there is an insufficient number of students subscribed to the course.
    4. It is the responsibility of the student to attend each class in the course and no refund, or provision of any additional classes, is available for non-attendance of all or part of the course.
    5. All students must be over 16 years of age.
