Description

The Make Your own Gemstone Ring is suitable for students with no previous jewellery experience as well as those who have jewellery experience but have never made a gem set ring before.  Students will be guided through the entire process of making both a ring and bezel and then learn how to set their stones. Students with no prior experience will learn all the fundamentals of jewellery making, including saw piercing and solderning and students will learn how to make a ring shank and a setting for their gemstone ring.

The 2 day workshop is taught by Diane Appleby, a very experienced tutor and contemporary jeweller with over 30 years in the industry.

What students learn and make

  • Basic bezel settings
  • Students will be making easy rub-over bezel settings in sterling silver. Students may choose to make a ring, pendant or earrings incorporating a semi-precious cabochon gemstone, which we will supply.
