This introductory level workshop for the development of stretch patterns and is suitable for students & teachers of all skill levels. It will be run over one, full day session where students will learn to adapt our industry knit block into interesting tee shirt & dress styles with an emphasis on a quality finish.
Training will cover basic stretch pattern making techniques using our in-house Knit Block. The focus is on basic and fashion knit patterns including block adjustments to suit particular knit fabrics. Technical detail such as seam allowances, construction techniques and appropriate machinery are covered through each stage of the training. The workshop is ideal for beginners and will help to enhance your understanding of stretch patterns and garments. Workshop materials include detailed handouts of each stage of the workshop, guidelines to best workroom practice, and a glossary of terms related to knitwear. Samples of a variety of stretch and drape samples are available for students to examine at the studio. Pattern making materials and equipment are provided for use at the studio during the workshop at no extra charge.
