Description

Advanced Barista Techniques is a robust course and is designed for the serious barista who is looking to gain employment in the café industry. Like all The Coffee Training Co. packages, this course is delivered "face to face" by a Certificate IV qualified trainer and assessor who use a number of different training techniques to cater for all learning styles. Each trainee will have access to their own group handle and grinder with more than adequate one on one time with their trainer.

The content covered includes;

  • Organise and prepare work areas
  • Understand key ingredients, small accessories, barista tools and large equipment such as the coffee machine and coffee grinder
  • Grinder Calibration
  • The perfect extraction / shot coffee
  • Heating and Foaming milk
  • The espresso menu
  • Provide customer service and advise customers on espresso coffee
  • Prepare and serve the espresso coffee menu
  • Clean and maintain espresso machine

Our team of trainers is made up of vastly experienced industry professionals who are not only passionate about coffee but also training. All our trainers started their careers behind a coffee machine and from there, have or still do, own and manage cafes, and are heavily involved in barista competitions, develop and implement coffee training and assessment programs.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

All  changes to bookings need to be made no later than 48hrs before the  course commencement time by phoning 1300 253 030 or by email, brent@thecoffeetrainingco.com.au.  

Cancellations will be refunded and  changes will be considered if  requested more than 48hrs in advance of  the enrolled course. 

If a  cancellation is made with in 48hrs of the  course commencement time,   50% of the course fee will be refunded. In  the event of a "no show",  no refund will be given unless sufficient  evidence as to why is  provided.

Payment

100% payment is required upon booking. Payment can be made in store or via our website. We accept VISA, Master  Card, Cash (In Store Booking Only) or Direct Deposit (Upon request).   The Coffee Training Co. use the secure and trusted merchant facility of www.weteachme.com.au


Bookings

Bookings can be made by phone, email or online (preferred). Once payment is made and agreement to these terms and conditions have been confirmed, bookings will be confirmed by email.

Facilities

All training facilities are purpose built coffee training rooms. Equipment used are 2 group

commercial espresso machines and commercial grinders.

The Coffee Training Co. is committed to supporting the national Privacy Principles which set  clear standards for the collection, use, storage and access of personal  information which is obtained as part of business operations. To provide  our services we require certain information from the purchaser or  trainee, e.g. their name, address, contact details etc. If the purchaser  or trainee does not provide us with this information we will not be  able to provide the services the purchaser or trainee have requested.


As  required by the Privacy Act the purchaser or trainee may also check and  correct the accuracy of personal details at any time. The Coffee Training Co. is not involved in the selling, trading or alternative unauthorized use  of personal information. We will not, on any circumstances pass on  personal details to other organisations, unless required by law.


Training and Assessment

All The Coffee Training Co. trainers are qualified trainers and hold a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.  All courses offered follow a clear training plan that is flexible to  meet the learners needs. Methods of training include, but not limited  to, the use of practical demonstrations & explanations, content  delivered by TV & DVD, and "one on one" assisted training, physical  work books and assessments and practical assessments.


The Coffee Training Co. is  in partnership with Prestige Service Training (PST) and use PST as the  Registered Training Organisation (RTO) for all accredited courses.  Trainee's who complete an accredited course may have access and review  their own file with permission of PST and must abide by PST's policies.  PST's policies can be accessed by contacting PST by phone on (07) 5667  7224 or on their website.


Workplace Health & Safety Policy

Our Trainers are responsible for providing and maintaining a safe training environment & facilities

for the welfare of other trainers, trainees and guests.


Trainees are responsible for;

Ensuring their own personal health and safety, and that of others in the training facility.

They  comply with any reasonable directions (such as safe training  procedures, wearing personal protective equipment) given by a trainer or  management for health and safety reasons.

Ensuring correct attire is worn and personal hygiene standards are met to meet food safety standards.

These include;

Wearing of closed in shoes at all time

Long hair should be tied back

No acrylic nails

No nail polish

Minimal jewellery

My experience id rate highly, as coming from a Barista background many years ago, it was extremely interesting to see how things have developed since i was making coffee over 10+ years ago. Krystal was extremely knowledgable, and very approachable, so any and all questions were answered so i felt i learnt so much, plus it cemented the knowledge i still had also. This course has given me confidence to know i can still get my hand in this and be better with more practise, that i havent completely lost all skills and am gaining a renewed passion for this industry, i think really that had never left. Thankyou for having this training available to those of us who need it, it is definitely valuable, and id highly recommend to anyone interested, in getting into the industry, to book a class with Krystal.
