Description

Sauce is offering group barista training classes!

We are very happy to have Kate, our Barista on staff who is an excellent teacher and passionate about coffee in all its forms, offer barista training. This three hour class is popular with people who are passionate about coffee or are looking to work in the coffee industry. It will concentrate on texturising and pouring milk and being able to manage the grind to extract a perfect shot of coffee.  This class will run in a very small group (maximum of six), and will give you loads of practice on our commercial machine.

Many students who have completed this class go on to work in cafes and restaurants locally and interstate.

You will receive a Certificate at the end of your training class.

Enjoy this coffee session which includes all your coffee tasting, plus a sweet treat from the Sauce Kitchen cafe!

Come along on your own and make some new friends, or make a group get-together.  Our classes are great fun in a friendly atmosphere in our beautiful historic building.

* Please note, our classes require a minimum of four participants to operate, you will be eligible for a refund or re-schedule if a class does not go ahead.

Dear students,

You may have noticed an across-the-board increase in our booking prices. This is because the booking fee, which was previously charged separately, is now included in the class price. Please note that bookings made in-store will be charged the original price (no fee included).

Sauce The Sauce Kitchen

Sauce is a cooking school situated in the Beautiful Garden City "Toowoomba". Our beautiful heritage building has been lovingly renovated. Come and see how gorgeous it is.

"Sauces are the splendor and the glory of French cooking" - Julia Child.

There is also the connotation of saucey behaviour! Life has to be fun.

A sauce may only be as exciting and delectable as the chef that creates it. We were enthused by the passion and professionalism of the chefs we consulted. They helped refine the kitchen to make it a pleasurable space in which to teach and learn. Their passion for food and their ability to convey this as teachers is a great driving force behind the cooking classes.

Every effort has been extended to source stock to meet the needs of every cook and beyond.

Sauce is still a work in progress - with enthusiastic, knowledgeable and dedicated staff, we will continue to strive to meet your expectations and provide a complete source for all things kitchen.  The Sauce Cafe is up and running, so come and have morning or afternoon tea, or lunch, enjoy our kitchen space and our cooking classes!

02 October 2017 • Barista Training & Demonstration Class

Kate firstly came to our school to teach a small group of staff how to use the machine that we have recently purchased. She explained the machine and its operation in great detail and answered all our questions, sometimes more than once. She then gave a step by step demonstration and allowed us to have a go while guiding us on how to improve. I then did the Sunday course to allow me to observe the how to teach others to use a machine as I will be teaching the process to students in the future. Kate was fabulous throughout both sessions. She was friendly and informative and put all students at ease so that they were confident enough to ask questions and make mistakes through out the process of learning

Having had an expresso machine for some time, and having tried to learn from the internet how to use it, there was nothing like being there and having someone show you. You don't get the same sounds and feel from the internet, nor the ability to ask questions. And there was plenty of opportunity to practice on their machine with helpful guidance. A very enjoyable and worthwhile experience which I'm putting into practice.

Kate is a great trainer. All processes thoroughly explained. There was lots of time for hands on practise & several different coffee styles were also explained. Highly recommended.
