Pattern Design: A slip over the head top, you can use it as lingerie to pop on under blouses so that they fall perfectly, use it as a layering piece under shear tops, or make the slip a statement piece of its own. A lovely design with low round neckline, our only top with Princess seams. Princess seams create an elongated torso in your garments and look incredibly flattering. You could vary the hemline for a shorter or longer top. You will also learn how to sew bias binding (with your instructions included three different methods) as you finish the neckline and arhmoles.
Photographed Sample: Our Summer Slip is made from a Lincraft floral woven cotton. It is light to mid weight. The Princess Seams have been highlighted by overlaying the centre front with a simple cut out white lace. We've finished the arm holes and neck with a pre-made cotton bias tape in hot pink.
Styling Ideas & Notes On Supplies: This top will work in light to mid weight fabrics with drape - a drapey rayon would be ideal. This pattern is not suitable for knit fabrics. For best results - pre-wash your fabric to reduce shrinkage.

Sewing a simple top. I learnt amazing dressmaking techniques. Great class, lovely relaxed environment with enthusiastic teachers. Totally fantastic experience.
I learned how to sew bias binding properly! Now I have a cool summery top that I badly need for work wear, and I intend to lengthen the pattern to make a long slip dress. I love princess seams - they are the most flattering to my figure.
