Art FUN-damentals Learn to Draw Still Life

Description

Join Natalie, from Studio Yellow, for a Tuesday evening of Art FUN-damentals.

Natalie will guide you, step by step, though the fundamental skills you need to improve your drawing confidence and ability. Using a Still Life as the subject matter, you will learn pencil techniques such as shading, cross-hatching, stippling and well as how to use the elements of Line, Shape, Tone and Texture to give the illusion of 3D forms on a 2D surface (paper).

Suitable for complete beginners, this session will get you started so that you can then apply and practice the techniques in other drawings you do.

Still Life is one of the best subjects in art for learning and teaching the skills of drawing!

The objects chosen for a still life artwork often have a special meaning, so if you wish to, please bring one or two small objects, that you would like to include in your composition to add meaning (a personal connection) to your work.

Australian Artist, Margaret Olley, loved to paint objects (STILL LIFE) because, in her words, she liked to “discover the mystery of things”.

All materials, including water-soluble graphite pencils and cartridge paper, tuition, a drink on arrival and nibbles are included for just $55 per person.

This class is limited to a maximum of 10 people.

Please note - the image shown is for example purposes, not the exact still life that will be drawn on the day.
