If you have participated in our beginners' watercolour workshop or have a basic level of experience in watercolour and wish to extend your knowledge and challenge your imagination, this workshop is for you!
This series of three consecutive workshops leads on from the beginners' sessions, with greater emphasis on composition and perspective. Subject matter will extend into seascapes and architectural themes, that will begin with simpler buildings such as cottages or farming structures and progress to streetscapes. Local and European themes will be explored.
The colour palette and brushes used will be expanded to meet the new challenges of an intermediate audience.
Tutor Bryan Fitzgerald is an acclaimed watercolour artist with over 25 years of teaching experience and immeasurable knowledge, who can help train you to become the confident budding artist you desire to be.
Participants are required to bring their own materials for this workshop. A materials list will be provided via email closer to the workshop date. Note that many items used in the Beginner's Watercolour Workshop can be used in this workshop so there is no need to purchase the same materials twice if participating in both workshops.
Please note: All classes require a minimum of 6 participants to go ahead. In the event of a workshop being cancelled, your booking will be fully refunded or transferred to another workshop or date. For cancellations within 24 hours notice of the scheduled class, 50% of the class fee will be refunded.
- Building on the beginners' workshop, you will continue to learn how to push the boundaries of watercolour as a medium
- More about composition and perspective, with subject matter including seascapes and architectural forms
- To expand on the techniques of watercolour washes, tree and foliage effects, glazing, spray, splatter and salt effects to create artist quality paintings
- 12 hours of tuition with Bryan Fitzgerald, an acclaimed watercolour artist with over 25 years of teaching experience
- Support and guidance in how to work with a variety of techniques, subject matter and compositions
- A relaxed environment with small class sizes to ensure individual attention
- To take home a range of studies and art works at the end of the three weeks
- Morning tea and lots of inspiration!
- Materials list will be provided via email closer to the workshop date.
There's no need to bring your own art smock, but wear old clothes as it might get a bit messy!
Adults with a beginner's level of knowledge about watercolour painting. It is advised that you attend the beginners workshop with Bryan first.
