Description

Adrienne Kneebone spent 12 years in the Northern Territory mastery the craft of weaving as well as working extensively with women from Western Arhnem land. She has a lot of skills, knowledge, and storytelling to share and finds enjoyment in the atmosphere of a weaving group. Her skills range from basket twining to native grass cobbling through to bush toy making.

She now resides by the Yarra river in East Warburton where she has adapted to weaving with the local plant material. Her classes are light-hearted and enjoyable as she draws the creative spirit from people.

Adrienne's basket weaving workshop went beyond my expectations. Her teaching style is warm, easy to follow and woven with humour and positive reinforcement (pun intended). Conversation flowed easily and the group connected over some interesting reflections on what brought us to the workshop. Adrienne's teaching background enables her to understand that everyone learns differently. She took the time to help me get my head around my project and I left the day, not only with a gorgeous little basket, but wonderful memories of a peaceful and reflective afternoon in the Yarra Ranges.

We had a lovely relaxed workshop in the most gorgeous, lush surrounds- on a verandah overlooking the pristine Yarra in Warburton. Adrienne was a friendly and attentive host and teacher who delighted in sharing her skills and knowledge. Each student came away from the workshop with their own hand made basket and the skills and motivation to go home and make more. I really enjoyed this workshop- thanks Adrienne.
