Description
Get ready for a fun day filled with clay, paint, craft and penguins these school holidays! Join children's book illustrator Stephanie Thatcher and create your very own three-dimensional penguin friend and its icy habitat.
In this hands-on workshop, you'll bring your drawings to life by sculpting a playful penguin using air-drying clay and wire, adding personality and expression with paint and detail.
Then, to finish, you’ll create a small-scale diorama of an Antarctic world for your penguin to call home!

The Corban Estate Arts Centre is located in Henderson, West Auckland.
We’re home to artist studios, our very own cafe, art classes for adults, youth and children, and an ever-changing programme of exhibitions and events.
Set within park-like grounds amongst historic winery buildings. Open Monday to Saturday, entry is free, everybody’s welcome.

Your Teacher
Stephanie Thatcher lives in Huia, West Auckland, where she makes picture books alongside her freelance graphic design work. She has always loved books, spending much of her childhood lying around reading. She also loved drawing and painting, especially sketching people and animals.

- A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking.
- Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
- Cancellation by participant up until 7 days before the workshop commences results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
- Cancellation by participant within 7 days of the workshop commencement date results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 30% admin & booking fee.
- Cancellation by participant on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given.
