Beginner Wheel Throwing Workshop
what students are saying
Are you looking for unique and creative things to do in Melbourne for yourself, with loved ones and friends? Join this wheel throwing class with McCanless Pottery!
This workshop is suitable for beginners or, with some prior experience, who would love to experience the incredible joy of turning a humble piece of clay into a decorative and functional work of art that you get to keep!
In this exciting workshop, you will learn how to make functional ceramics on the potter's wheel. Your instructor will take you through wheel throwing techniques such as centring and collaring, along with instruction on how to use the various pottery tools.
You will work at your own pace with both group and individual instruction where you can make anything you desire, from bowls to cups and vases.
So what are you waiting for? Come and have fun with clay and give yourself a break from the hustle and bustle where you get to sit down, relax, and enjoy being creative with your loved ones and friends.
To ensure the best possible experience and a vibrant studio atmosphere, our bento sessions require a minimum number of participants to run. If a session does not meet this requirement, we may reach out to move your booking to an alternative time slot so you can create alongside fellow makers. We will notify you via text message at least 48 hours in advance and will work closely with you to find a new time that fits your schedule.
