What will you learn?

Class 1: Making a Cushion Cover

• Get familiar with your sewing machine, learn about setting up, threading, top thread tension, and bobbins. Practice essential sewing techniques like hemming, pinning, pivoting, and pressing. Complete a cushion cover by the end of the class.

Class 2: Making a Tote Bag

• Solidify your machine setup skills and gain independence in using your sewing machine. Learn additional techniques like creating boxed corners and sewing with the free arm of the machine. Finish a tote bag during this class.

Class 3: Making an Apron

• Introduce sewing along curved lines and changing stitching directions. Reinforce skills from previous classes and promote independent machine setup and use. Complete an apron in this class.

Classes 4 & 5: Making a Skirt with Pockets

• Dive into garment making with a skirt project. Learn to make in-seam pockets, create a paper bag effect, and finish the waistline with an elastic band. Hem your skirt and apply these techniques to future projects.

Course Duration and Schedule

This course runs over 5 weeks with classes held once a week, each session lasting 2 - 2.5 hours. Our small class sizes ensure that each student receives individual attention and support. Choose from a variety of class times throughout the week, including morning and evening sessions, to accommodate your busy schedule.
