Learn the basics of oil painting in this relaxed 6-week landscape painting class with experienced artist and educator Jean Stweart. The class will cover surface preparation, value studies, brush marks, colour mixing and paint layer application.
Painting from a set up model of a landscape will add some control, while allowing the learner to develop skills to paint from real life. Each participant will be encouraged to find their own style and will complete one finished landscape piece.
Jean Stewart is currently exhibiting in our Homestead Galleries with her show Current Moods. Visit this exhibition until Saturday 4 October.
You will learn
- This evening workshop will follow the basic structure of creating a layered landscape using oils.
You will get
- There will be a focus on process, learning techniques and methodologies in approaching materials, paint application, colour theory and glazing.

18+ years old.

- EVERYTHING is provided - just bring along any images, art books or sketchbooks for inspiration.
What to wear
You might get dirty! Don't wear your Saturday night best outfit!
Jean Stewart has a Master’s Degree in Design & Painting, is a practicing artist and a dedicated arts educator.

- Cancellation by participant within 7 days of the workshop commencement date results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 30% admin & booking fee.
- Cancellation by participant on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given.
