Discover the art of close-up and macro photography in this hands-on workshop at Sydney Community College. Learn how to capture sharply focused, well-exposed images of flowers, insects, jewellery, coins, miniatures and more using specialised macro techniques and equipment.

This practical course explores a wide range of optical, lighting and support tools—from macro and reversed lenses to extension tubes, bellows and diopters. You’ll also learn how to control exposure, depth of field and lighting to produce striking macro images. The workshop covers extreme macro photography beyond 1:1 magnification and introduces focus stacking techniques, including processing stacked images in Adobe Photoshop.
