In exactly the same way that you only get your groceries once you’ve paid for them, your Curious Engine Experience will only be locked in once payment has been completed.
We don’t do numbers as well as we do photography, so we don’t do the 75% refund four days before, 25% refund two days before… etc. And we also understand that when you are travelling, plans change. We have no intention of making that any more complicated.
As long as you give us 24 hours notice prior to the Experience we will refund your fee in full.
Sadly, if you do not give us 24 hours notice, we will have to charge the full amount. Sorry!
Can I change the date of my Experience?
If it is pre-planned Experience, and there is another one listed and available, then yes, absolutely. We’d be happy to transfer your booking to the new date with no extra charge. If you choose a different Experience, of lesser of greater value, then we will either refund the difference, or await payment of the additional amount before confirming.
If it were a personalised or customised Experience, we would need to determine if that Experience is due to run again. If not, we will have to offer a full refund, provided you let us know more than 24 hours before it was due to start.
Why wouldn’t you be there? OK, there might be a reason: Zombie apocalypse, alien invasion, or meteor? If it’s something else and you just can’t make it, we would appreciate a call or email. However, if you are not at the pick-up or meeting point at the designated time, we are very sorry, but we will have to go without you! Refunds will then not be available.
What if I send a doppleganger instead?
If you wish to replace yourself with someone else, that’s fine. Just please give us their name and contact details ahead of the departure.
Queensland is an amazing State, straddling the Tropic of Capricorn. As such, we do get our fair share of extreme weather, and on occasion we may have to alter the planned itinerary as the day goes on. The Experiences will go out in most weather. Clear skies and stormy clouds all add a visual value to photography. However, the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) will guide us. If they announce that there are warnings in place that may impact our safety, we will be forced to cancel. In such a case, there are three options. 1) We can rearrange your Experience for another day. 2) We will refund you in full and apologise on behalf of the weather. 3) We will all go and sit in a nice cocktail bar for the day and talk about what might have been.
Your care and our responsibility
Curious Engine is a real business with real people called Colin and Craig operating it. We want you to learn and have fun, but we also recognise that we have a responsibility to ensure your safety and care.
We have public liability insurance, but the liability and responsibility of your own valuables, including your camera gear, is up to you. Please ensure that you have the appropriate insurance to cover any loss or damage.
We are also not medical professionals, and cannot accept responsibility for the effects of any prior medical condition that may impact upon our clients, affecting their health and causing or exasperating illness or injury, or causing death.
The Curious Engine Experiences are mostly outdoor experiences and, as such involve some risk. In booking with us, clients recognise this and will not hold this business, its employees or sub-contractors responsible for any injury or loss that you should suffer to yourself or your possessions. If injury should occur on the Experience, we will do all we can to get you to medical assistance as quickly as possible.
Where appropriate, we advise of the appropriate clothing that you should wear for an Experience, although you must always wear sunscreen and a hat. Although we make water available at regular intervals, you should also bring your own water, as well as any medication that might be required throughout the duration of the Experience.
If you have any pre-existing medical conditions or special requirements that we need to be aware of, you must make these known to us ahead of the Experience.
This is not a traditional sightseeing tour, but an opportunity to explore our region and its attractions through the eyes of your cameras. Professional photographers are there to assist with your photography and camera techniques accompany you. As such, it may not be suitable for young children. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, and have to take up a full price seat. They cannot be strapped to the roof racks.
No additional luggage can be brought on our Experiences. However, for obvious reasons, a small day bag, camera bag and tripod are encouraged.
All tours have minimum numbers to operate.
Should conditions compromise your safety, activities will be cancelled or adjusted.
For the safety of other guests, and our own, persons considered to be intoxicated by either drugs or alcohol will be excluded from the Experience. No compensation or refunds will be paid.
All sarcasm implied is purely for comedic value, we take our Experiences very seriously, however we do like to have fun along the way.
