Make It Nifty holds sewing and dressmaking classes in Bracken Ridge 30 minutes North of Brisbane CBD.

At Make It Nifty students are taught sewing techniques and knowledge while having a good time.

Students are encouraged to “give it a go”; progress is better than perfection. Students should leave class feeling happy that they have tried something new; proud that they made something with their own two hands and skill, and confident they could do it again.

Make It Nifty is a (very) small private business that was started in 2015 on Vanessa’s dining table.

Make It Nifty is now located in a studio space on the ground floor of Vanessa’s home in Bracken Ridge.

I sometimes read these reviews and think "It can't be that good" - let me tell you, It can! and it WAS!!! This wasn't my first sewing class and Vanessa was the best teacher I have ever experienced. Her knowledge and skills are fantastic and her ability to communicate and explain how to do things was exceptional. I left this class actually being able to take these skills home and apply them. I can not thank Vanessa enough. After many unsuccessful attempts by me to get my sewing going, I now can and it all thanks to Vanessa and her teachings. I can't wait to do more classes and learn even more as I know it is going to be awesome. I'd rate this 10 stars if I could. Thank you so much Vanessa. You are just awesome!

Hi Kylie,

I'm so glad you enjoyed the course. It was an absolute pleasure to have you in the studio. Thank you for bringing your button stash to the studio and generously sharing them with the other attendees.

I'm so thrilled you were able to apply what you learned in the course at home and continue sewing outside of the course. I hope to see you in the studio again and I can't wait to see what other creations you make.

Happy sewing🧵

I simply loved it! I didn’t even know how to fill a bobbin or thread my sewing machine! We finished our projects ahead of time and in the last class we could take whatever we wanted! I rate it 5 stars (I just clicked on the stars and 4 stars appeared as my choice but in fact it wasn’t! 10 out 10 for sure!

Hi Sonia,

Thank you for leaving a glowing review. It was great to see how much joy you got out of sewing.

It was wonderful to see the projects you made outside of class.

I wish you full bobbins and no seam ripping.
