Your Teacher
The big 'Ox' is a wonderful generous teacher with many, many (hundreds even) years experience in teaching and making ceramics. He gained his bachelor degree in Ceramics way back in the 80's and has made pots and taught at schools since!
Ox loves sharing his knowledge of pottery and inspiring and encouraging new potters of the future all while making fun quips and getting even the most 'disinterested' young person on side.
Our other teacher Clare Shannon finished her Ceramics degree a couple of years after Ox and also has worked in many potteries honing her skills. Clare fills the room with energy and fun and runs fabulous weekly classes with both kids and adults at Oxart Pottery. Clare also has her education degree and is currently a teacher at two primary schools in the Macedon Ranges, so has great communication and classroom presence.
All staff at Oxart Pottery have working with children checks and are first aid trained. We also have varying and lived experience with neuro diversities and all abilities, making Oxart Pottery a wonderful safe place to learn.
