Description

In this linocut class, you will have the opportunity to learn and explore the medium of relief printing in a small group setting with a minimum of four to five students. The class will take place in a home studio, providing a comfortable and relaxed environment for learning and creativity.

The class will be three hours in length, giving you plenty of time to learn the techniques and tools needed to create beautiful linocut prints. You will have the guidance and support of an experienced instructor who will help you develop your skills and achieve your artistic goals. This class is limited to four students due to space In a home studio.

Whether you are a complete beginner or have some experience with printmaking, this linocut class is a great opportunity to learn and explore this exciting medium. You will have the chance to experiment with different tools and techniques, and you will be able to ask questions and receive feedback from your instructor as you work.

By the end of the class, you will have a solid understanding of the techniques and tools needed to create beautiful linocut prints, and you will have the skills and confidence to continue exploring this medium on your own.


Please note: we have two driveways. Four cars can be parked off the street. Do not park on a solid white line because today a student was fined. Further around the corner you can find no solid white line. 25 years we have never got a ticket. Today was the day sadly.

What you will learn

  • Students will learn how to create a relief print using linoleum as the printmaking block, including transferring the image onto the block, carving the image with linocut tools, printing the block using a printing press, and using various printing techniques.

What you will get

  • You will take home with your finished Lino block and an edition of three prints.
Parking Info

We have two driveways to park in. Both driveways fit two cars. Please be mindful not to mark in the middle, park either left or right leaving room for the car beside you. One side of the street has no white line and the letter box side does. Please be careful not to park on the white line side. A client received a ticket recently. There is plenty of parking though in both driveways and on the other driveway side there is no white line so park anywhere in the street. If you are unsure ask when you arrive and I will check for you. 


What to bring

  • You will need to have an idea of of your image before the class. Approximately 15cm x 15cm . To fit inside this Square shape lino plate.However, do not worry if you cannot think of anything. There is an extensive library of images , example floral and bird books to choose from. A Visual Diary with your sketches or collaged pictures is always a great idea.

What to wear

No sandles or things please. Closed toe shoes. We have aprons.

Beginner adult class with no experience to ongoing students who want to develop their new skills.

A multi disciplined artist in painting, photography, printmaking and digital art, all of which combined gives her the skills to help students develop their artistic abilities into the meduim of printmaking,

Adding to her long list of artistic accomplishments Billy has a double Bachelor of Arts at Curtin University in Fine Art and Visual Culture.

I was invited to join by my friend and being curious about Linocut Printmaking, I attended this class. First time I’ve ever done this… learnt a lot and now appreciate how much work goes into this craft. Thoroughly enjoyed myself with a small group of creative (& chatty) women. ☺️
